• Royal Rumble 2023 Opponent For Roman Reigns
As seen in the main event of Survivor Series 2022, Roman Reigns and his Bloodline put away The Brawling Brutes, Drew McIntyre & Kevin Owens.
During the ending moments of the match, Sami Zayn low-blowed Owens and hit a Helluva Kick, and then allowed Jey Uso to pin Owens to pick up the win.
Roman and even Jey hugged Sami after the match, which received a big pop from the crowd.
According to Wrestlingnewsco, WWE is now planning to do Roman Reigns vs. Kevin Owens for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship at Royal Rumble 2023:
“Current plan for Roman Reigns at the Royal Rumble is for him to defend the WWE Universal Championship against Kevin Owens.
At one point, Sheamus was penciled in for that spot but we’re told that it’s KO vs. Reigns.”
In the WarGames match, Owens hit Reigns with a Superkick, followed by a Pop-Up Powerbomb and a Stunner, and had him pinned, but Sami stopped the referee from counting to 3.
Reigns vs. Owens has happened at the Royal Rumble two times before as well:
Royal Rumble 2017 – Kevin Owens (c) def. Roman Reigns in a No DQ match (with Chris Jericho suspended above the ring in a shark cage) to retain the Universal Championship
Royal Rumble 2021 – Roman Reigns (c) def. Kevin Owens in a Last Man Standing match to retain the Universal Championship
