1. Big Future PPV Match Cancelled, Top Raw Star No Longer Getting A Universal Title Match

About a month back, Finn Balor was expected to win the Extreme Rules 2017 main event and become the #1 contender for the Universal Championship. He would then go on to face Brock Lesnar for the Universal Title at the Great Balls of Fire 2017 PPV.

But plans were changed and Samoa Joe became the #1 contender for the Universal Title. However, there were still plans for Balor to get his Universal Title match at a PPV later this year.

The bad news now is that Balor might not get his Universal Title match this year at all. We recently noted how plans for SummerSlam 2017 have changed and WWE plans on doing Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns for the Universal Title at SummerSlam 2017 instead of WrestleMania 34 and have Reigns win the Title (as WWE thinks Lesnar making very few appearances as Champion is hurting their product).

This means that Brock Lesnar vs. Finn Balor for the Universal Championship won’t be happening and any future Universal Title match plans for Balor have been dropped as well for now.
