Sara Lee, who was the female winner of the Season 6 of WWE Tough Enough in 2015, passed away in October 2022.
She was 30 years old. She married former WWE wrestler Wesley Blake in 2017 and had 3 children together.
The wrestling world was shocked by her passing and they did everything they could to help Sara’s family. Over $100,000 were raised for the “Sara Lee Memorial Fund” on GoFundMe.
In March 2023, People Magazine reported that an insider told them that Sara might have died because of alcohol:
“The insider says Lee ‘was heavily drinking [the night she died]’ and was later found by her husband Cory James Weston.
‘[Cory] had just come back from working in Orlando. He took the kids somewhere and came back and found her. It was sudden.’ The source adds, ‘It wasn’t intentional and it was accidental.’
Lee was ‘never that person you would think would do this,’ according to the insider. ‘There were never any signs.'”
In an update, TMZ Sports is reporting that Sara died by suicide according to a new autopsy report they obtained:
“In the Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office documents, officials say Lee ingested a lethal combination of alcohol and pills. They added that the former wrestler had left ‘letters of intent at the scene’ before her death.
According to officials in the documents, Lee had bruises and abrasions on her head and body at the time of her passing – though they suspected she may have suffered the injuries in a fall or falls while in an intoxicated state.”
