Despite causing backstage controversy at Royal Rumble 2022, Shane McMahon ended up returning to WWE programming in 2023 at WrestleMania 39. He faced The Miz in an impromptu match, but ending up tearing his quad just seconds into the match and had to be replaced by Snoop Dogg on the spot.

That was Shane O’Mac’s last WWE appearance to date. He hasn’t been associated with WWE since then and didn’t appear during Triple H’s Hall of Fame induction earlier this year either.

During this time away from WWE, Shane had a meeting with AEW President Tony Khan regarding the possibility of him joining All Elite Wrestling, but nothing happened.

Now, the former WWF European Champion is listed on WWE’s active roster on their website:

This has begun speculation that WWE could bring Shane back. Some fans are even joking about Shane coming back to “buy” TNA, just like he “bought” WCW in storyline back in 2001.

Back in June, TMZ Sports interviewed Shane McMahon and he was asked if he and his father, Vince McMahon, will start a new wrestling company. Shane O’Mac replied:

“You never know what’s gonna happen out there. Of course, anything can happen in WWE, but those rumors are false. Those rumors are false.”

When asked about joining All Elite Wrestling, Shane replied:

“Had a meeting with AEW and wish them, you know, continued success or whatever, but it’s not WWE. It’s not the company I helped build. But you never know what’s gonna happen in this business.”

When asked about the rumors of Vince buying back into WWE, Shane said:

“He owns a big part of TKO still, so you never know what’s gonna happen there either. So I’m not trying to be vague, I’m just saying anything can happen.”

Shane also noted that Vince is doing “really well” and is enjoying life. You can watch it below:
