During a recent interview on WrestleBinge, Old School WWF Legend Shawn Michaels was asked if he would possibly consider wrestling one more match under the right circumstances.
Here’s what HBK replied:
“No, I absolutely don’t think about that at all anymore. I’m so enamored and enjoy helping these young men and women come through NXT.
I’ve had my time in the sun. I absolutely enjoyed every bit of it, but I so thoroughly enjoy being able to help them and allow them to have the same opportunities that I had.
This is about the generation of a Bron Breakker, Julius & Brutus Creed, Tiffany Stratton, we have a number of young men and women coming through NXT, who are going to be huge, huge superstars on the main roster.
I don’t think anyone is going to be surprised if they see Bron Breakker & Carmelo Hayes headlining a WrestleMania someday in the very near future, that’s what I’m obviously focused on.”
‘The Heartbreak Kid’ Shawn Michaels wrestled for the World Wrestling Federation from 1988 until 1998 and again (for the renamed WWE) from 2002 till he officially retired in 2010.
The Showstopper eventually came out of retirement for one match on November 2nd 2018 at the WWE Crown Jewel pay-per-view in Saudi Arabia, where he teamed up with his DX friend Triple H to defeat The Brothers of Destruction (The Undertaker & Kane). Shawn reportedly made $3 million for this match.
