• “She would overshadow anything that’s going on in AEW” – WWE Hall Of Famer On The Possibility of Sasha Banks Joining All Elite Wrestling

Former WWE Women’s Champion Sasha Banks is set to become a Free Agent on January 1st 2023 and she is expected to appear in NJPW at the Wrestle Kingdom 17 PPV on January 4th.

Since AEW & NJPW have a working partnership, there are rumors going on that Sasha might join AEW, especially since Saraya (fka Paige in WWE) needs a tag team partner on the January 11th episode of Dynamite.

During a recent episode of his ‘Hall of Fame’ podcast, WCW Legend Booker T spoke about the possibility of The Boss joining Tony Khan’s All Elite Wrestling.

Here’s what the 2-time WWE Hall of Famer had to say:

“Putting Sasha Banks over by saying, ‘yeah I think she would do well over there [Japan]’, I don’t think that’s something that I would retract or anything like that.

Do I think she would do well in AEW? I think she would overshadow anything that’s going on in AEW from the women’s side more than anything.

I mean it’s not anybody over there other than Britt Baker that I think she really that genuinely matches up with her from a star power perspective, that’s just me. That’s just my personal opinion. I could be wrong.”

On his ‘Keepin It 100’ podcast, fellow WCW Veteran Disco Inferno even advised AEW to fire some of their female wrestlers to make some space for Sasha Banks, who would have to perform under her real name Mercedes Varnado, due to WWE owning the rights for the ‘Sasha Banks’ name.

Here’s what he said:

“Well, I would get rid of a bunch of people and bring [Sasha Banks] in. That’s what I would do. I would want to bring her in. But I would want to cut the fat of the people I brought in that I’m not doing anything with. I’ll just let them go.

[Tony Khan] should offer people the releases right now. Because I guarantee you there’s going to be tons of people on that show that are not happy with creative at all, because they’re doing nothing with them. If he offered them a release, I wonder if that would free up some money.”

Sasha Banks made her NXT debut on January 23rd 2013 and eventually made it to the WWE main roster on July 13th 2015, when she became a member of the RAW roster.

During the May 16th 2022 episode of Monday Night RAW, she walked out on WWE after creative dispute, alongside her tag team partner Naomi, which resulted in both being suspended indefinitely and their WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles were vacated.
