Former WWE Champion Sheamus (age 46) returned on last week’s RAW and defeated Ivar. This was his first match since his loss to Edge on SmackDown in August 2023.
Sheamus was out of action with a shoulder injury and was also dealing with neck issues, since he has spinal stenosis.
The Celtic Warrior almost retired two months ago due to the pain he was in.
Here’s what he posted on Social Media:
“The road back to the ring is slow, rough, and unimaginably painful. 2 months ago, I thought I was hanging up my boots for good, but a lot of doctors, trainers, and physios helped get me cleared to do what I love.. fight. #ThisIsWhatWeDo.”
Sheamus is carrying some weight right now, which led to some fans bodyshaming him on social media.
The former World Heavyweight Champion noted that he was originally scheduled to return at the 2024 Draft, but Triple H ended up bringing him back a few weeks before it, so he’s not done cutting weight:
“Ok Ok take your best shots.. Whalemus, Too Many Pies, etc.. and then we’re done with the photoshopping & shaming. I was aiming for the Draft & got an early call-up. My bad. On me. Been sleeping in the gym ever since SO watch this space I appreciate the love too #Sheamoose”
He also shared the following two photos (which are photoshopped, as he isn’t carrying as much weight as shown in the photos):
Sheamus shared the following training video later:
