• Old School Wrestling Promoter Would Have Celebrated His Birthday
Today would have been the 113th birthday of legendary Old School Wrestling promoter Sam Muchnick.
Muchnik ran the St. Louis, Missouri territoy “St. Louis Wrestling Club” from 1959 till he retired in 1982.

• SmackDown Star Says WWE Championship Has Lost Its Prestige – Says He Can Elevate That Title More Than AJ Styles Can
During an interview with Sky Sports prior to SummerSlam 2018, The Miz talked about how he should get a WWE Championship match if he defeats Daniel Bryan (which he did) and how the WWE Title has lost its prestige.
Below are the highlights:
On deserving a WWE Championship match:
“I deserve to be in the WWE Championship match. So I said, ‘Listen, if I defeat Daniel Bryan, I deserve to be in that match.’ So, I’m hoping once I beat Daniel, I can face AJ, take that title, and bring the relevancy and prestige back to that title like I did with the Intercontinental Championship.”
On if he thinks the WWE Championship has lost its prestige:
“Don’t you? Name a time it’s been in the main event. Why is it not in the main event? If the Universal Championship is on the card, why is that title not in the main event? Back when I was first starting in WWE there was not a PPV that didn’t have the WWE Championship or World Championship in the top spot.”
Of if the WWE Title will be in the main events of PPVs if he becomes champion again:
“100%. I will make sure that everyone knows that this title belongs in the main event. I’ll make noise. I know how to make noise, I really do, I’m really good at it. And sometimes I feel like AJ Styles just coasts. I mean, he’s great in the ring, one of the best performers that WWE has ever had. He’s the longest reigning WWE Champion, but I feel like I can elevate that title more than he can.”
The Miz will now get a chance to earn a WWE Championship match if he’s able to defeat Daniel Bryan once again as WWE has announced Miz vs. Bryan for the WWE Super Show-Down event in Australia on October 6th, with the winner of this match earning a future WWE Championship match.
