On this day in 1988, the World Wrestling Federation aired an episode of their weekly TV show ‘WWF Wrestling Challenge’.

It was broadcasted from the Sports Arena in Toledo, Ohio and featured pre-taped matches, promos & storyline segments on the road to the ‘WWF Survivor Series 1988’ PPV.

• WWE Crown Jewel Match Takes Place On SmackDown Live

The WWE Championship match between AJ Styles & Daniel Bryan, that was supposed to take place at WWE Crown Jewel this Friday, took place tonight on SmackDown Live and Styles defeated Bryan to continue his historic title reign.

After the match, Samoa Joe returned and attacked Styles. Joe has made it clear that he’s not done with Styles and still wants the WWE Championship.

This Title match took place on SmackDown Live because Bryan refused to go to Saudi Arabia for WWE Crown Jewel.

It’s possible that Styles vs. Joe for the WWE Championship now takes place at WWE Crown Jewel if WWE still wants to do a WWE Title match in Saudi Arabia.

The New Day came out as “The Brood” from the Attitude Era (Gangrel, Edge & Christian) on tonight’s SmackDown Live and spit the mysterious red liquid on Big Show, Cesaro & Sheamus during Big E’s street fight with Cesaro.
