2-Time WWE Hall of Famer Bret Hart will return on Monday’s RAW at the Saddledome in Calgary.
According to PWInsider, word going on backstage in WWE is that The Hitman will be involved in a segment with World Heavyweight Champion Gunther.
Since Sami Zayn challenged Gunther last week, it’s possible that Bret shows support for his fellow Canadian, similar to how he introduced Sami to the WWE main roster for a match against John Cena for the United States Championship back in 2015.
Also, Bret has some history with Gunther. At WWE Clash At The Castle 2022, Gunther defeated Sheamus to retain the Intercontinental Championship. Bret was in attendance to witness this match.
Bret said in an interview later that he was embarrassed to be ringside at this PLE to watch so many “leg slaps” from wrestlers. He didn’t mention the Gunther vs. Sheamus match by name, but said that he wasn’t a fan of heavy chops either, which Gunther and Sheamus used on each other a lot.
Gunther didn’t like these comments. Below is what The Ring General said about The Hitman on WWE’s The Bump:
“I think it is obvious that in-ring, he is one of the best to ever do it. Very enjoyable. He was very popular in Germany and Austria when I was growing up. He was a big superstar there. But as Ludwig (Kaiser) said before, I don’t forget.
And what that man said at my match in Cardiff and was not mentioning nice things after that. So, he is not going to get anything nice from me. Too bad he is not in the state anymore to settle this in the ring. It would have been very interesting.”
