• Eric Bischoff Comments On Hulk Hogan Being Reinstated Into The WWE Hall of Fame
During a recent interview with Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated, former WCW President Eric Bischoff shared his thoughts on Hulk Hogan’s WWE Hall of Fame reinstatement and backlash it got from fans and some wrestlers.
Below is what Bischoff said:
“I was really happy when I got the news because I know how much it means to him. We’ve discussed the potential of this scenario for a long time.
You’re going to have haters no matter what you do. You could cure every disease known to man and, still, someone’s going to hate you. But I don’t think people value that kind of negative input as much as they used to because people recognize it for what it is, and that’s people who want to be noisy and get attention.
Professional wrestling, the WWE, and being in the Hall of Fame represent such a large part of Hulk’s life, as does his connection to the audience. For that to not be there for him, it hurt. So I think the news is great for Hulk as a person and for wrestling fans. To many generations of fans, Hulk Hogan really represents the beginning of what became this amazing industry that we have.”
• Stephanie McMahon’s Historic Announcement Revealed (Spoiler)
WWE announced on Twitter that RAW Commissioner Stephanie McMahon will be making a historic announcement on the upcoming episode of Monday Night RAW.
BREAKING: Commissioner @StephMcMahon will appear LIVE this Monday on #RAW to deliver a historic announcement!
— WWE (@WWE) July 20, 2018
Stephanie McMahon is scheduled to announce an all-women’s PPV, which will take place in September in Long Island, New York.
According to DirtySheets.Net, Stephanie is also expected to announce the debut of the Women’s Tag Team Titles.
The all-women’s PPV will feature the RAW, SmackDown & NXT Women’s Title matches and the crowning of the new WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions in a tournament.
Below are some of the possible women’s tag team combinations that WWE could use in this tournament from the main roster:
– Ronda Rousey & Natalya
– Nia Jax & Natalya
– Riott Squad
– The IIconics
– Mandy Rose & Sonya Deville
– Alexa Bliss & Mickie James
– Charlotte Flair & Becky Lynch
– Becky Lynch & Naomi
Dirty Sheets noted that there’s a possibility that WWE could save the tag team title tournament for a WWE Network exclusive show and air it around the same time when WWE’s male crew goes to Saudi Arabia for another show. This would be done to avoid getting heat for doing another show in Saudi Arabia without the female talent.
If WWE does end up saving the tag team title tournament for a separate show, then the all-women’s PPV will feature the 3 title matches and other normal matches.
