• Steve Austin Reveals Why He Didn’t Wrestle At WrestleMania 39

As we have reported before, Stone Cold Steve Austin was offered matches against Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar for WrestleMania 39, but he turned them down.

During an interview with Sports Illustrated, Austin revealed that his schedule for ‘Stone Cold Takes on America’ (which will premiere on April 30th on A&E) and shooting taking more time than expected prevented him from getting ready for a match at the biggest WWE show of the year.

Below is what the former WWF Champion said:

“Sure enough, there were technical issues before we finished. I was supposed to finish a month before we did. There’s no way, with the schedule I was doing — driving an RV all over God’s creation, doing all I was doing — that I would be ready.”

Austin also noted that the scenario would have to be “perfect” in order for him to lace his boots again. He’d also like himself to be in “off-the-charts” shape if that ever happens.

Steve’s last match took place in the main event of WrestleMania 38 – Night 1, where he defeated Kevin Owens.
