During a recent edition of “The Brand” podcast, Vince Russo, along with OVW Veteran Kenny Bolin and co-host Jeff Lane, discussed Enzo Amore losing the WWE Cruiserweight Title, top SmackDown Live star Shinsuke Nakamura being put in the WWE Title picture very soon and then being booked to lose & more. Below is their conversation:
Russo: Jeff , I’m gonna throw this one to you. I don’t care if he wins it back next week. I don’t care if he wins it back tomorrow. I don’t care if he wins it back the day after tomorrow. Please explain to me why you would be Enzo Amore at this point? I don’t care if he gets it back next week. Let’s assume he’s getting it back, please explain to me why you’re going to take the belt off of the hottest thing they’ve ever had in that godforsaken division that nobody cares about from day one.
Jeff: I can’t. I can’t because everything that they’ve just done, they just crumbled it up and threw it in the trash. They wasted it all. Because if he does win it back now, who cares. They killed it. Especially after they put it on somebody that nobody cares about. Nobody cares about Kalisto. I mean there’s no logic to this.
Kenny: (Speaking of bad booking decisions) Steve Austin told me the same thing and I respect his opinion. He didn’t even know my opinion. He was just “Oh my god, Kenny! They’re killing Nakamura. The booking is terrible”. Now he did say that to me in private so I probably shouldn’t have said that here but…. I’m sorry. They’re killing a star and I hope they don’t screw up Asuka.
