• Teddy Long Wants Former NWA World Champion To Defeat Roman Reigns For The Undisputed Title
On a recent episode of the ‘One on One’ podcast, former WCW/WWF Manager Teddy Long talked about former NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion Nick Aldis leaving the National Wrestling Alliance, and stated that he wants him to join WWE and become the man to dethrone Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns.
Here’s what Teddy said:
“That’s money right there. But I’ll kind of do it the other way around. I’ll have Nick come in first and take the belt from Roman Reigns. I’d do it that way.”
Nick Aldis first appeared in Dixie Carter’s Total Nonstop Action! (TNA) in 2008 as Brutus Magnus and later went just by ‘Magnus’, even managing to win the TNA World Heavyweight Championship in December 2013.
Magnus was released in June 2015 and joined Jeff Jarrett’s Global Force Wrestling (GFW) the next day, where he eventually became the inaugural GFW Global Champion in October 2015.
In September 2017, Aldis joined the National Wrestling Alliance (NWA), that had been purchased by Billy Corgan a few months earlier, and ended up becoming the longest reigning NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion of the modern era, when he held the title from October 21st 2018 until August 29th 2021 (after already holding the belt from 2017 till 2018).
