• “That just set the business back 30 years” – WWE Management On AEW’s Blood & Guts Match
Last week’s special AEW Dynamite “Blood & Guts” edition drew 1.09 million viewers, which is up from previous week’s 889,000 viewers.
Last week’s show ranked #1 in the Cable Top 150, with a 0.42 rating in the 18-49 key demographic, which is up from previous week’s 0.33 rating and rank #10 in the Cable Top 150.
This is the first time ever that Dynamite has ranked #1 on Cable and the credit for it can be given to their first-ever “Blood & Guts” match (AEW’s version of the War Games match).
According to PWInsider, while the WWE wrestlers enjoyed this match, the WWE management wasn’t pleased:
“I have heard from people in [WWE] management and they hated it. One person told me, and I quote, ‘That just set the business back 30 years’. Did it? I don’t know but I was told that the people in charge weren’t happy.
On the other hand, I talked to wrestlers that loved it because they would love to do something like that themselves.”
