7. Sting Hints At Wrestling One More Match, Possibly With The Undertaker

During a recent interview with IGN, WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2016 member Sting talked about his two big PPV matches in WWE, wanting to face The Undertaker at WrestleMania, possibility of him having one more match & more. Below are the highlights:

Reacting to his two WWE matches:

“Just fantastic. Awesome. Incredible. It was WrestleMania and Triple H. And a lot of fans, if I understand what you’re trying to say here, sort of feel ‘Are you kind of disappointed that you lost two times?’ No, I’m not. I look back and say ‘Wow, great opponent in Triple H. Biggest stage and platform of them all.’ You know, wrestling fans remember me wrestling there. I don’t think they’re walking away thinking it sucked because I should have won. Maybe for a minute. But more so they’ll remember that I was at WrestleMania. And then to have a world title match against Seth Rollins? Wow. I’ve been World Champion many times, so it didn’t bother me.”

Does he still want to face The Undertaker?:

“Uh, yeah. I’ve been very outspoken about that. Still a dream of mine.”

On rumors that he will be announcing his retirement:

“That is one of those rumors floating around, yes. TMZ put something out and, again, I still have a dream inside of me. And it’s not dead yet.”

His different characters with NXT, how ‘Tyler’ finally came to be:

“There were a couple – about two or three. All of them were very different. The names were different, the looks were different, and the character traits too. I wanted to be here in WWE. I had to find something that fans would pay money to see. It actually felt almost like the pressure was off. What I was doing before wasn’t working, so I was trying so hard to make that work and it wasn’t. I finally just let that go and was moving on to the next thing that I actually had some confidence in – a clean slate – and I had fun with it.”

Was Shawn Michaels an influence on his character?

“I was a big fan of Shawn growing up, but I never did try to emulate him. He had a lot of stuff that was good. I would take a little bit from him and look even further back to Gorgeous George. He had a lot of stuff that was so far ahead of his time. What I liked about Shawn Michaels’ style was that it was so athletic and innovative for its time.”
