• The Rock Tears Up While Praising Daughter Ava For Refusing Nepotism In WWE

The Rock is one of the biggest names in WWE history, but when it comes to his daughter Ava, he couldn’t be prouder of the way she is forging her own path in the business.

While speaking to MTV UK at The Smashing Machine premiere, The Final Boss opened up about Ava’s decision not to use his influence to get ahead in WWE. He got emotional while speaking about his daughter.

“I am so proud of her, because it’s what I did, and I love what I did, I love wrestling, I grew up in wrestling. She was born into it too just like I was, and when she said, ‘Hey I wanna do what you do’ – but the difference is, it’s why I get emotional, because she’s like, ‘I wanna do what you do, but I wanna carve my own path.’ That’s the difference.

That was a big deal when I heard that. Because it’s easy I think for any kid who want to come up and do what their parents are doing to… maybe it’s not overt, but to utilize the influence. I’m telling you, it never happened. I never got that call. Like hey, ‘Can you call someone, could you…’ – I never got that call. And that’s the truth.

And that’s the thing that makes me proud. Look, I’d have been there anyway, I would have made that call, but when you don’t get it, it gave me a profound sense of pride, because I helped, with her mom, raise an amazing human being.”

Ava started as a member of The Schism in NXT. Later, she stopped wrestling and became the General Manager of NXT.

• Drew McIntyre Will Be Major Hollywood Star’s Brother In New Movie

WWE Superstar Drew McIntyre has officially landed a major film role, joining the cast of Amazon MGM Studios’ Highlander reboot from United Artists. The project will be directed by Chad Stahelski (John Wick franchise).

According to Deadline, McIntyre is set to star opposite Henry Cavill, playing the role of Angus MacLeod, brother of Cavill’s character, Connor MacLeod.

In addition to Cavill and McIntyre, the film’s ensemble includes Russell Crowe, Marisa Abela, Karen Gillan, Djimon Hounsou, Max Zhang, and WWE Legend Dave Bautista.

The script was written by Michael Finch, inspired by the cult classic 1986 film that starred Christopher Lambert as Connor MacLeod. The original depicted an epic battle among immortals across centuries, blending historical and modern-day storylines.

The first Highlander film, directed by Russell Mulcahy and produced by Peter S. Davis and William N. Panzer, went on to spawn several sequels and the popular 1990s TV series starring Adrian Paul.

UA acquired full rights to the original movie, opening the door not only for the upcoming reboot but also for a potential new series. Lionsgate previously developed the film before the project moved under United Artists.

The reboot entered pre-production this month but was temporarily paused after Cavill sustained an injury during training. Filming is now scheduled to begin in early 2026.

For McIntyre, this marks the former WWE Champion’s biggest acting role to date. The Scottish wrestler previously made his feature film debut in Lionsgate’s The Killer’s Game, where he also appeared alongside Batista.

• SmackDown Star’s Return Is Imminent

According to the Wrestling Observer, Jacob Fatu’s return to SmackDown is imminent.

His last televised match on the blue brand was on the August 15th episode of SmackDown, where he teamed up with Jimmy Uso and Sami Zayn to defeat My Family Tree (Solo Sikoa, JC Mateo, and Tonga Loa) in a 6-man tag team match.

Since then, The Samoan Werewolf has worked a lot of Live Events and dark (untelevised) matches. His last match took place after the September 12th episode of SmackDown, where he defeated Rusev.

Earlier this year, Fatu defeated LA Knight at WrestleMania 41 to win the United States Championship. He lost the title to Solo Sikoa at Night of Champions. He failed to win the title back against Sikoa in a rematch inside a Steel Cage at SummerSlam.
