• Old School WWF Legend Would Have Celebrated His Birthday

Today would have been the 68th birthday of Old School WWF Legend “The Macho Man” Randy Savage.

Savage is widely considered one of the greatest Professional Wrestling Superstars of all time and certainly used to be among the top draws in the history of the business.

The highlight of Randy’s WWF career (1985-1994) is without a doubt winning the tournament for the vacant WWF World Heavyweight Championship at ‘WWF WrestleMania IV’.

After leaving the WWF in the fall of 1994, The Macho Man joined Ted Turner’s World Championship Wrestling, where he had another great run till his retirement in 2000.

Savage came out of retirement in 2004 when he showed up in ‘Total Nonstop Action’ to help AJ Styles & Jeff Hardy against “The Kings of Wrestling” Jeff Jarrett, Scott Hall & Kevin Nash, but Randy’s run was cut short due to an injury, which prevented him from winning the NWA World Heavyweight Championship from Jarrett in the main event of the ‘TNA Final Resolution 2005’ PPV, as planned.

That short TNA run was the last time we saw him in the ring.

His life ended on May 20, 2011, when he had a heart attack while driving his car, which resulted in a car-accident.

In 2015, “The Macho Man” Randy Savage was posthumously inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame by his former close, personal friend, Hulk Hogan.

Savage’s brother, “The Genius” Lanny Poffo, accepted the award on his behalf.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY & † REST IN PEACE

At this event, not only did The Rock made a new record for being the youngest WWF Champion at that time, but he was also involved in the shortest WWF/E match of all time!

During the 14-man tournament for the vacant WWF World Heavyweight Championship, The Rock faced Big Boss Man in one match, and rolled him up to pin him and win the match in just 3 seconds!
