• “The truth is The Bloodline story is a far better story than the nWo” – WCW Legend

During an episode of his weekly ’83 Weeks’ podcast, WCW Legend Eric Bischoff compared the ongoing Bloodline storyline on WWE TV to the legendary nWo storyline (1996-2000) that took place in Ted Turner’s World Championship Wrestling.

Here’s what the 2021 WWE Hall of Famer had to say:

“The truth is The Bloodline story, in terms of a storyline in and the ingredients and the elements and the discipline and the structure and the nature of it, is a far better story than the nWo.

Will it have the same impact on the industry as the nWo did? Probably not. But, that has a lot to do with timing. There are so many things that made the nWo work, including Hulk Hogan turning heel, by the way.

There were so many things that were just a moment in time that helped propel that storyline at that, that time that you can’t replicate that today.”

Hulk Hogan turned heel during the main event of the WCW Bash at the Beach 1996 pay-per-view and joined Kevin Nash & Scott Hall, resulting in the creation of the legendary ‘new World order’ faction.

They were soon joined by The Giant (The Big Show), Ted DiBiase, Vincent (Virgil), Syxx (X-Pac), … & many others.

There were several other versions of the nWo, including nWo Wolfpac, nWo Hollywood, nWo elite (unofficial name), nWo 2000, as well as the 2002 WWE version.
