The Undertaker Didn’t Know At First That Top WWE Star Refused To Break The Streak

The Undertaker Will Wrestle At WrestleMania 36

• The Undertaker Didn’t Know At First That Top WWE Star Refused To Break The Streak

In 2008, in the main event of WrestleMania 24, The Undertaker defeated Edge to win the World Heavyweight Championship and keep The Streak intact.

Before the match, Vince McMahon pitched Edge the idea of him defeating Undertaker and breaking The Streak, but Edge turned it down.

During an interview with Ariel Helwani, Undertaker revealed that he didn’t know of this at the time.

Below is what The Deadman said:

“[Vince McMahon] wanted Edge to go over and Edge refused. He said, ‘No, I can’t do it.’ That’s how much he respected The Streak and me, and what that Streak meant to the business.

I didn’t know that at that time. I didn’t know that until years after. That says a lot about the human being he is.”
