Old School WCW/WWF Legend “Faarooq” Ron Simmons celebrates his 62nd birthday today. DAMN!

WCW Executive Vice President Bill Watts made him the first ever black World Heavyweight Champion in 1992, before Simmons joined the World Wrestling Federation in 1996 as Faarooq Asaad.

Faarooq eventually became the leader of the controversial faction Nation of Domination and later formed a Tag Team with Bradshaw (now known as JBL), called The Acolytes aka The A.P.A.!

In 2012, Simmons was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame by his former Tag Team partner.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

• The Undertaker Reveals Why He Agreed To Have Brock Lesnar End The Streak At WrestleMania 30

During a recent interview with Ariel Helwani, The Undertaker was asked about the decision of Brock Lesnar ending his undefeated WrestleMania streak back in 2014.

Below is what The American Badass said:

“Internally, and the way this business works, I knew that someday it probably would. In our industry, you just don’t walk away like Floyd [Mayweather] and retire undefeated or Rocky Marciano.

Although most of my peers and people that I work with thought it was a horrible decision. I just asked Vince, are you sure? Is this what you want? He was like, ‘If it’s not Brock, who can beat you?’ from the way the streak was built and by that time.

So it was like, alright, it’s your call. Everybody thinks that I have all this juice that I can say yes or say no. I mean I could have said no. What good was that gonna do?…what do I do? Not go out? or throw a tissy? I’m not going over…that’s not me.

I’m business, and business comes first before anything personal.”
