• On This Day In Pro Wrestling History (August 10, 1996) – WCW Hog WILD 1996

On this day in Pro Wrestling history on August 10, 1996, Ted Turner’s World Championship Wrestling aired ‘WCW Hog Wild 1996’ LIVE on PPV from the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in Sturgis, South Dakota.

This was the very first out of a total of 4 annual WCW events (1996-1999) from the Sturgis Harley Davidson Rally, and while all four events are usually destroyed by the critics for not earning a cent in revenue money because it was totally free for the bikers in attendance, they were still pretty cool & entertaining to watch for a fan, as big outdoor events always had kind of a special feeling to them.

Here are the results:

– WCW World Cruiserweight Championship: Rey Mysterio Jr. (c) defeated The Ultimate Dragon

– Scott Norton defeated Ice Train

– Madusa defeated Bull Nakano

– Chris Benoit defeated Dean Malenko

– WCW World Tag Team Championship: Harlem Heat (c) defeated The Steiner Brothers

– WCW United States Heavyweight Championship: Ric Flair (c) defeated Eddie Guerrero

– The Outsiders defeated Sting and Lex Luger

– WCW World Heavyweight Championship: Hollywood Hogan defeated The Giant (c)
