• “They beat our developmental system. Good for them” – Triple H On AEW Dynamite Beating WWE NXT

The Wednesday Night War between AEW’s #1 TV show Dynamite and WWE’s #3 TV show (and developmental show) NXT ran for almost 2 years.

It ended with AEW beating NXT in viewership and 18-49 demo ratings for most of the weeks (except a few weeks where NXT won).

There were rumors that Vince McMahon decided to punish NXT and its officials by ending that version of the show and debuting NXT 2.0.

Triple H was asked about this rumor during an interview with Ariel Helwani and below is what The Game said:

“People put so much pressure on all this competitive war, but it never was that. They beat our developmental system. Good for them.

It was never that. Here was never even a pressure of ‘you have to beat that.’

It was put on the best product we could. It shifted over time. During the pandemic, it shifted over time.”
