According to latest reports, TNA offered a big contract to Rey Mysterio last week. TNA President Dixie Carter and John Gaburick pitched to Rey Mysterio that he if signs with TNA, they would help him get his merchandise in several retail outlets, thus increasing its visibility and hence the sales.
TNA told Rey that they would make him a major Superstar in the company. To be accurate, a major Hispanic superstar. They also told Rey that he would be free to work for other wrestling promotions when he’s not working the TNA shows.
However, there’s a feeling that Rey won’t be signing with TNA and would instead go with Lucha Underground, but no official decision has been made yet.
TNA offered a similar contract to Alberto El Patron (f.k.a Alberto Del Rio) as soon as he was released from WWE. TNA promised Alberto that they would make him the TNA World Champion as soon as he debuts, but Alberto denied.
