Below are some top WWE news stories of the day.

• WWE recently taped a match for its upcoming show “WWE LFG” at the Performance Center, featuring Elijah Holyfield, former NFL player and son of boxing legend Evander Holyfield, in his debut match.

Signed less than a month ago, Holyfield joins the show, which focuses on aspiring pro wrestlers competing for WWE contracts under the mentorship of legends like Triple H, The Undertaker, and Shawn Michaels.

LFG, short for Legends & Future Greats, follows a format similar to Tough Enough, with contestants undergoing training, competing in matches, and learning wrestling business essentials. Mentors include stars like Booker T, Mickie James, and Bubba Ray Dudley.

The first taped match had Alicia Taylor as the ring announcer, with commentary by Vic Joseph and TNA Veteran Jeremy Borash.

Borash, WWE’s Senior Director of Content and Development, collaborates closely with Shawn Michaels on NXT. Before joining WWE, Borash had an extensive career in TNA Wrestling from 2002 to 2018 as an interviewer, commentator, and backstage contributor.

WWE LFG will premiere on A&E in early 2025.

• Former WWE Women’s Champion Bayley, a key member of the Four Horsewomen alongside Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch, and Sasha Banks, reflected on the group’s lasting influence during an interview on the Going Ringside show.

She noted that their impact is particularly evident in NXT, where younger wrestlers now aspire to emulate their legacy. Bayley recalled that during their time in NXT, the women’s division lacked depth, and they looked up to main roster stars like Natalya, Tamina, and Naomi as role models.

Bayley expressed pride in how their work paved the way for future generations. She shared her joy in hearing current WWE wrestlers cite matches from the Four Horsewomen as sources of inspiration and motivation.

Looking ahead, Bayley named NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez as her dream WrestleMania opponent. She praised Perez’s skill and expressed her desire to be part of Roxanne’s first WrestleMania match, calling it a special opportunity due to their close friendship:

“I would probably like to work with someone in NXT. Roxanne, because she’s killing it as the NXT Women’s Champion. She’s so smooth. I’m selfish. I know everybody wants to work with her, but I’m selfish, so I want to get her first Mania match. I think that would be really special, and we’re really tight friends, so I would love that.”
