Below are a couple of TNA & WWE news stories of the day.
• TNA’s Strict New Rule Revealed
TNA Wrestling is making a major change to its in-ring presentation by cutting down on blood.
According to PWInsider, blading is no longer allowed in TNA. While accidental blood, such as a bloody nose or cut from a strike, will still be allowed, the company is moving away from intentional or heavy bleeding during matches:
“Excessive blood and blading will not be permissible by the promotion. In the case of hardway blood or something like a bloody nose or mouth, blood will be allowed and it was noted that it’s understandable that sometimes, blood will be a result of contact in the ring. But purposeful, heavy bloodletting is a thing of the past in the promotion.”
The change is reportedly being made with both performer safety and business relationships in mind. TNA wants to prioritize wrestler health and also remain appealing to current and future media partners and advertisers.
Despite this new direction, an upcoming episode of ‘TNA iMPACT!’ will feature a dog collar match between Steve Maclin and Eric Young that contains heavy blood. The match was taped prior to the change taking effect.
• CM Punk Reacts To Cora Jade’s WWE Release
Cora Jade issued the following statement after her WWE release:
“Dropping out of high school at 15 to chase my dreams was scary but I’m so thankful it worked out for the time that it did! I got to live out so many childhood dreams, go so many places, do so many things and most importantly I met some of the most important people in my life that I know I’ll have in my corner forever.
Unfortunately it didn’t go how I envisioned and I’m disappointed by a lot of things but I can look back with no regrets and know I did everything with love and passion and always stood up for myself, even in the times I was scared. I’m proud of myself for that.
With all that being said, TRUST that this is not the end and only my new beginning. I have a lot to say when the time is right. I have so many ideas and am excited for the future and to be able to show what I truly am capable of.
Elayna Black is back from the dead b*tches! See you in 30.”
Cora also shared the following photo of her from back in the day:
CM Punk, who is a good friend of Cora, wrote the following under her post:
“Dream chaser. Turn it to gold.”
