• Tony Khan Announces New Match-Card For This Week’s AEW Dynamite To Honor Brodie Lee (Match Chosen By His Son)
Night 1 of AEW’s New Year’s Smash was scheduled to take place on this week’s Dynamite, but that will no longer happen due to the sudden death of AEW wrestler Brodie Lee.
AEW President Tony Khan announced a new match-card for this week’s Dynamite. Below are the details:
“This Wednesday on AEW Dynamite, we’ll celebrate the life of Jon Huber (Mr. Brodie Lee) with a show including tributes and a special card of matches dedicated to The Exalted One. This night is intended to honor Jon, but also this is for Amanda, and their sons Brodie (-1) & Nolan.
AEW New Year’s Smash will now take place across the first 2 weeks of 2021, on January 6 + January 13 on TNT. I’ll announce the card for this week’s AEW Dynamite Celebration of Mr. Brodie Lee’s Life in a moment. Thank you to all who have shared their love for Jon this week.

On this day in Pro Wrestling history on December 28, 1997, Ted Turner’s World Championship Wrestling aired ‘WCW Starrcade 1997’ LIVE on PPV from the MCI Center in Washington, DC.
This was the 15th annual Starrcade event out of 18 that aired between 1983 and 2000, with the first 5 being promoted by Jim Crockett Promotions, before Turner bought the company.
Starrcade 1997 ended up being the pay-per-view with the most buys in WCW history!
