Below are some top news stories of the day, involving Ricochet and AEW.

• AEW CEO Tony Khan recently refrained from commenting on WWE star Ricochet, who is reportedly set to leave WWE this summer. The speculation follows a report by PWInsider that Ricochet has notified WWE of his intention to depart once his contract expires.

Ricochet’s potential exit was underscored during the June 10 episode of WWE RAW, where he was brutally attacked by Bron Breakker and subsequently taken away in an ambulance. This storyline development has fueled rumors of Ricochet’s move to AEW.

In an interview with TV Insider, Khan was asked about his thoughts on Ricochet as a talent. Khan tactfully avoided the topic, stating, “If it’s okay, I’d rather not get into wrestlers that still work for someone else.”

Ricochet, a former WWE Intercontinental Champion, has been a standout performer and his potential free agency has sparked considerable interest in the wrestling community. However, Khan’s response highlights AEW’s respect for contractual boundaries and his reluctance to discuss talents currently signed with other promotions.

• Robert “RD” Evans, who recently left his role on the TNA Creative team, has swiftly transitioned to working with All Elite Wrestling. PWInsider has confirmed that Evans was involved in AEW’s recent activities, including working at last Saturday’s Collision and is present backstage for tonight’s Dynamite. Over the weekend, Evans contributed to backstage segments.

Evans’ departure from TNA was reported by PWInsider on May 31st, citing strained relations between Evans and TNA. Sources indicated that Evans had been increasingly frustrated, leading him to decide to leave the company.

While some in TNA tried to present his exit as a mutual agreement, it is widely believed that Evans chose to depart of his own accord. This decision occurred prior to the recent firings at TNA and was unrelated to those events.

It’s likely that Jimmy Jacobs, a close colleague of Evans during their time in TNA, facilitated Evans’ move to AEW. Before his tenure at TNA, Evans also worked on WWE Creative and had a career as a wrestler and performer with Ring of Honor and CHIKARA, among other promotions.
