• Tony Khan & His Father Are Interested In Buying WWE & Merging It With AEW
WWE is definitely getting sold this year and below is the list of potential buyers:
– Comcast
– FOX
– Disney
– Warner Bros. Discovery
– Netflix
– Amazon
– Endeavor Group Holdings
– Liberty Media
– Saudi Arabia Public Investment Fund
You can add AEW President Tony Khan and his father Shahid Khan to this list as well, because Barron (sister publication to the Wall Street Journal) is reporting that the father-son duo is interested in buying the #1 pro-wrestling company in the world.
They also noted that Khans will likely look for a financial partner to acquire WWE. Shahid Khan (who invested $100 million to launch AEW in 2019) also owns Jacksonville Jaguars and Fulham Football).
During an interview with In The Zone, Tony was asked if he’s keeping an eye on Vince McMahon’s return to WWE. Tony said:
“Yeah, absolutely I’m following it, very closely.”
Later, CNBC reported that people close to this situation told them that Tony & Shahid are interested in merging AEW with WWE.
According to this report, Tony & Shahid are open to McMahon having a role in the company after the sale.
We’ll keep you updated regarding this situation.
