• Tony Khan Is Planning To Introduce 7th Championship In AEW

During the AEW Revolution media call, AEW President Tony Khan talked about Cody Rhodes leaving the company, another Title coming & more.

Below are the highlights:

On AEW introducing a Trios (3-Man Team) Championship:

“I definitely think it’s something that there’s a lot of interest in, I’ve seen that, and we have a lot of great trios here. I am very interested in it.

I’ll be 100% honest with you, this is the most blunt answer I could give, I’m much more receptive to doing it when Kenny Omega’s back. Because I think that is going to happen, and when Kenny Omega’s back, I think the trios division is that much stronger.

We could do a great tournament now and have a great trios division, but I think he would make it that much stronger and I have so much respect for him, and I think he was such a great World Champion for us.

I think we could have by far the best trios division anybody could put together with how strong our roster is and how many trios are already together and have experience working together, and I would love for Kenny Omega to be a part of it.”

On Cody & Brandi Rhodes leaving:

“It was very sad to see Cody and Brandi leave AEW. I haven’t said much, but what I do have to say is very positive. I thank them for helping grow the company and I wish them the best.”

If All Elite Wrestling ends up introducing the Trios Title, then it will be the 7th Championship in the company.

AEW already has the following Titles:

– AEW World Championship

– AEW Women’s World Championship

– TNT Championship

– TBS Women’s Championship

– AEW World Tag Team Championship

– FTW Championship
