After his match in the main event of AEW Collision this past Saturday, CM Punk cut a promo in front of the North Carolina crowd after the show went off air and took shots at “Hangman” Adam Page.

Punk called Page a “Peg Warmer” and said that he can’t move merchandise or pop ratings or sell toys like him.

The former WWE Champion also called himself the heart and soul of AEW and the “real” World Champion of the promotion.

While speaking to Battle & Eli on Battleground, AEW President Tony Khan was asked about Punk’s comments.

Below is what he said:

“I thought it was a great show on Saturday night. I don’t have any further comment to that, but I’m glad people are still very interested in our wrestlers and what’s happening after the wrestling shows.

We’ll try to have a couple of great shows this week, and certainly, there has been a lot of interest in what’s happening in AEW in it and out of the ring.”

Voices Of Wrestling reports that Punk personally apologized to Page over a text message for his comments. Punk didn’t feel good about his promo and thought he shouldn’t have brought up merchandise sales in it.

It was added that he’s taking shots at The Elite to create chances of a feud between him and The Elite in the future.

He also reportedly told people that it was not his decision to send Matt Hardy and Isiah Kassidy home, but admitted that he was completely responsible for Ryan Nemeth and AEW Head Of Talent Relations Christopher Daniels being sent home.

An anonymous AEW wrestler stated that Punk is not interested in having certain Dynamite stars on Collision. He is involved in multiple aspects of the show including production of matches and segments.
