Below are a couple of top CM Punk news stories of the day.

• After the January 29th 2024 episode of RAW, Drew McIntyre sparked conversations among fans. He delivered a blow to CM Punk, who had suffered a triceps injury two nights earlier during the Men’s Royal Rumble Match, effectively writing off the former WWE Champion from television.

The incident followed a memorable exchange of promos between the two wrestlers, during which McIntyre revealed that he had hoped for Punk’s injury after the Rumble match, wishing Punk wouldn’t make it to WrestleMania 40.

In an interview with The West Sport, McIntyre discussed the segment, highlighting the creative freedom certain wrestlers enjoy in WWE, provided they have the company’s trust.

McIntyre acknowledged agreeing with many points in Punk’s promo but emphasized the importance of authenticity in character portrayal, believing it enhances the realism for all involved.

Here’s what Drew said:

“Punk and I did have issues when I was younger. All that stuff is true. I went in there and told him, ‘I’ve been through injuries, I’ve had moments taken away from me, and I can understand that’.”

• After this week’s RAW went off the air, CM Punk came out and cut a promo, where he said this:

“This is a bump in the road, and I promise you the next time we are in Anaheim I will be here and I will have my boots on.”
