Below are some top WWE news stories of the day, involving Vince McMahon and Cody Rhodes.

• When Vince McMahon was still the head of creative in WWE, he turned LA Knight into a manager for Maximum Male Models, called Max Dupri.

When Vince went out of power and Triple H took over the creative process, HHH turned Max Dupri back to LA Knight, and Knight went on to become a top star on the SmackDown brand.

During an interview with Chris Van Vliet, Knight revealed that he didn’t like working for Vince:

“[Vince McMahon] had a vision for this thing that put such a microscope on it and I didn’t know what the hell it was… and it just wasn’t going well.

I was very unhappy, and I’m sure he probably was, and then at some point it was just like all of a sudden I’m not on TV, and I’m like, well, I’m pretty sure I’m fired. I’m pretty sure this whole ride is over.”

• Cody Rhodes isn’t bothered by the returns of The Rock and CM Punk, as he still plans to main event WrestleMania 40.

Here’s what The American Nightmare said during a new interview with Sports Illustrated:

“The Rock is The Great One – he’s still electrifying. CM Punk is one of the greatest stars in the history of wrestling.

I know what I’m up against. Look at the roster – it’s loaded with stars. But that doesn’t bother me.

I’m not flinching. I’m not rooting against anyone else, I’m just working to make it happen.”

Roman Reigns vs. Cody Rhodes II for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship was the original plan for the main event of WrestleMania 40 – Night 2, but there’s speculation that this could change due to The Rock’s return.

Cody defeated Shinsuke Nakamura in a Street Fight on this week’s RAW. After the match, Cody tweeted:

“Only 2 steps left

Believe.”
