Below are a couple of top WWE & AEW news stories of the day.
• WWE SummerSlam 2024 is approaching, featuring major matches like Cody Rhodes vs. Solo Sikoa, Damian Priest vs. Gunther, and Liv Morgan vs. Rhea Ripley.
Ripley, who returned to TV last week after an AC joint sprain, hasn’t been cleared for physical action yet. PWInsider reports she won’t wrestle until SummerSlam, but is expected to be 100% cleared by then. Until she’s fully cleared, WWE will avoid having her engage physically.
There was speculation about Ripley returning to storylines either at SummerSlam or on the following RAW. However, WWE decided to book her match against Morgan at SummerSlam, partially because Ripley believes she will be ready for the event on August 3 at Cleveland Browns Stadium in Cleveland, OH.

• AEW is planning a major event for 2025, potentially in the Dallas/Arlington, Texas area. This follows their trend of hosting big shows in large venues, such as AEW All In at London’s Wembley Stadium and events at New York’s Arthur Ashe Stadium and the Tacoma Dome in Washington.
According to Fightful Select, All Elite Wrestling is considering a stadium show in Texas, comparable to their biggest events like All In. While no official announcement has been made, insiders suggest it could be confirmed by the end of the year.
This news comes as AEW starts a residency at Arlington’s Esports Stadium, featuring AEW Collision and Ring of Honor events through August 17, including the Death Before Dishonor PPV on July 26. It’s unclear if this residency is linked to the potential 2025 plans.
If AEW proceeds with the stadium show, possible venues include AT&T Stadium, Globe Life Field, and Toyota Stadium. AT&T Stadium, home of the Dallas Cowboys, has hosted WWE’s WrestleMania 32 & 38 and can accommodate over 100,000 people.
