• Top WWE Star Pushed For A Match Against Goldberg At Crown Jewel 2021
During an interview with Sportsnet, WWE Champion Big E revealed that he pushed for a match against WWE Hall Of Famer Goldberg at last month’s Crown Jewel 2021 pay-per-view.
Here’s what Big E said:
“We’ve been in a top act in many ways (with the New Day) but there are so many singles matchups out there that are fresh for me.
I was trying to make some noise for this Goldberg match at Crown Jewel, but that clearly (didn’t happen).
It would have been really full circle. He was my childhood hero and idol, and I’ve spoken effusively about that.”
For those who don’t know, Big E met Goldberg during the 90s when he was a kid.
Goldberg (who will turn 55 next month) recently revealed that he has one more match left on his current WWE contract.
At Crown Jewel 2021, Big E defeated Drew McIntyre to retain the WWE Championship and Goldberg defeated Bobby Lashley in a No Holds Barred – Falls Count Anywhere match (which was said to be Goldberg’s best match since his 2016 return to WWE).
