On this week’s episode of Raw, former WWE Champion Seth Rollins made history when he wrestled for 1 hour & 5 minutes in the 7 man Gauntlet match.

This is the longest time a wrestler has spent in a match in the 25 year history of Monday Night Raw. Rollins went on to defeat Roman Reigns & John Cena during his time in the match.

According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer, this was done to build Rollins up as he’s going to have a significant role in the main event scene after WrestleMania 34. Another plan that is being discussed for Rollins is that he’s going to turn heel soon as there is a shortage of top heels on Raw.

After Rollins turns heel, WWE officials are planning to have him feud with “The Big Dog” Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship (Reigns is currently planned to win the Title at WrestleMania 34) with the storyline being that Rollins pinned Reigns prior to WrestleMania (during this week’s Gauntlet match).
