After the WrestleMania 40 Kickoff press conference, World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins was interviewed by Fox News.
Rollins said the following about The Rock wanting to main event WrestleMania 40:
“It’s just what happens when powerful people exert their power. They just think they do whatever they want and get away with it, and that sucks. It just sucks. I don’t know any other way to put it.
I guess it (resulted) in Cody getting what he wanted. We’ll figure out what’s next for the World Heavyweight Title. But Cody said it best. It’s bullsh*t. It feels pretty gross to me.
Coming back, on the board of directors, like I said man, it feels like gross. I don’t like it. I feel like we gotta do something about it. Just don’t know what that next step is going to be.”
At the press conference, Rollins was hoping Men’s Royal Rumble winner Cody Rhodes would choose him as his WrestleMania opponent, but Cody chose WWE Champion Roman Reigns.
According to the Wrestling Observer, current plan is for a Men’s Elimination Chamber match to take place in Australia on February 24, with the winner of that match facing Rollins on the same night for the World Title:
“The belief is that Rollins will defend against the winner of the men’s Chamber match on that same show, but such a match has not been announced. And it couldn’t be announced since the tease was Rhodes vs. Rollins and announcing the match doesn’t make sense until this coming week.”
