On this day in Pro Wrestling history on April 11, 1999, Ted Turner’s World Championship Wrestling aired ‘WCW Spring Stampede 1999’ LIVE on PPV from the Tacoma Dome in Tacoma, Washington.

This was the 4th out of 5 Spring Stampede pay-per-view events that WCW aired between 1994 and 2000.

“The Macho Man” Randy Savage was the special guest referee for the main event.

• Triple H Announces WWE’s First Official Superfan

Old School WWF fan Vladimir Abouzeide has been named WWE’s first official superfan.

Back in the good old days of the World Wrestling Federation, Vladimir was seen at almost all the shows and even the wrestlers knew who he was.

“Superfan: The Story of Vladimir” is a documentary that will be released on the WWE Network / Peacock this Summer and you can watch its trailer below:

Triple H tweeted the following about it:

“What better way to welcome back the WWE Universe at WrestleMania than naming Vladimir our first-ever officially-certified superfan!!!!”
