Below are a couple of top WWE news stories of the day, featuring Triple H and Elimination Chamber 2025.
• Oba Femi returned to NXT programming at the Deadline PLE in Minneapolis, stepping into the Men’s Iron Survivor Challenge as a replacement for Eddy Thorpe, who was sidelined due to an injury angle.
Femi, who had been absent since losing to Tony D’Angelo at Halloween Havoc and was spending time in his home country of Nigeria during the break, won the match to become the #1 contender for the NXT Championship.
According to Fightful Select, Triple H is a big fan of Femi, who is now set to challenge NXT Champion Trick Williams for the Title at the New Year’s Evil special on January 6.
A former North American Champion, Femi has been a regular presence on NXT TV since signing with the company in 2021.

• WWE Elimination Chamber 2025 PLE is set for Rogers Centre in Toronto on March 1, marking the event’s second consecutive year in an international stadium.
It follows the record-breaking 2024 Elimination Chamber event at Optus Stadium in Perth, headlined by Rhea Ripley vs. Nia Jax.
WWE is promoting the upcoming event as John Cena’s final appearance in Toronto.
This will be WWE’s first show at Rogers Centre (originally SkyDome) since WrestleMania 18 in 2002, which featured the dream match of “Hollywood” Hulk Hogan vs. The Rock, and the venue also hosted WrestleMania 6, featuring Hulk Hogan vs. The Ultimate Warrior in the main event.
According to the Wrestling Observer, Elimination Chamber 2025 will set Canada’s all-time gate record, currently held by WrestleMania 18 at $3.8 million. Due to inflation and WWE’s growth, the Toronto market is expected to exceed $5 million in ticket sales.
