Triple H Might Have Heat With Some WWE Stars After Survivor Series

Triple H WWF WWE Survivor Series

Below are some top WWE news stories of the day, involving Triple H, CM Punk and Vince McMahon.

Fightful Select reported that the wrestlers involved in the Survivor Series 2023 main event (Men’s WarGames match) were told about CM Punk’s return just minutes before the match by Triple H.

In an update, producers, referees, staff, talent, and even head writers on the creative team were not told about Punk’s return.

Many wrestlers were upset, including main event talent who were legitimately unhappy (unlike Seth Rollins, who was visibly upset to plant seeds for a feud against Punk).

One top talent told Fightful that they understood Triple H wanted to keep Punk’s return a top secret, which he was successful at doing, but it might’ve cost HHH trust with the talent and he might have heat with some of them.

• The Wrestling Observer provided the following details regarding CM Punk returning to WWE after almost 10 years:

– WWE President Nick Khan made the decision to sign Punk, with the support of Chief Content Officer Triple H.

– Top TKO officials didn’t know about this decision, including Vince McMahon.

– Punk has signed a multi-year deal, which was reached about 10 days ago. Nobody in WWE knew, except Nick & HHH.

• According to Sean Ross Sapp, CM Punk is expected to appear on Monday’s RAW and there have been discussions about him being a Free Agent.
