Below are some top WWE news stories of the day, involving Triple H.
• Drew McIntyre made a surprising return on this week’s episode of RAW, attacking Sami Zayn after the main event.
While he was originally scheduled to return during WWE’s holiday live events or RAW’s Netflix debut in January 2025, Triple H revealed McIntyre’s early return stemmed from his eagerness to get back in the ring.
Speaking to Sports Illustrated, Triple H clarified that McIntyre wasn’t injured but took a planned break following his Hell in a Cell loss to CM Punk at Bad Blood:
“He was dying to come back. He wasn’t hurt, he wasn’t injured. Let’s just give you a little breather here for a second. And whether that’s spending some time at home enjoying your family, whatever that is, or whether that’s, hey, I have this other project I wanna work on. I have this project that Netflix has come up with, I’m gonna work on that.”
McIntyre’s return was accelerated due to Bronson Reed’s injury at Survivor Series. Addressing speculation about his absence, McIntyre said:
“If you don’t hear it from me…assume that every single thing you hear about Drew McIntyre is BS!”

Triple H highlighted Jelly Roll’s enthusiasm for wrestling, sharing that the musician is actively preparing for a future WWE match. “Every time I see him, he says, ‘I got another 100 pounds to go, baby, and I’m doing a match with you guys.’”
Jelly Roll performed his song ‘Liar’ at SummerSlam 2024, and later got physical during the show, as he chokeslammed Austin Theory.
