1. Two Returns Expected Tonight On SmackDown Live, Possible Battleground 2017 Feud For John Cena

As we all know, 16 time WWE World Heavyweight Champion John Cena will return to WWE programming on tonight’s episode of SmackDown Live.

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer noted that Cena might feud with Rusev because there’s no one else free on the SmackDown Live roster to feud with Cena at the moment. Cena and Rusev feuded back in 2015 and Cena went on to become the first man to pin Rusev on the WWE main roster at WrestleMania 31 and win the United States Championship. It’s possible that Cena & Rusev end up facing each other at the Battleground 2017 PPV.

So it’s possible that Rusev returns to WWE programming tonight as well (he’s already working WWE Live Events). Below is what WWE posted regarding Cena’s return:

The Fourth of July, a time for family, friends, fireworks … and JOHN CENA!

The Cenation Leader, who is now a Free Agent, returns to WWE tonight, when SmackDown LIVE airs on Independence Day. Cena has not been seen on WWE television since WrestleMania 33, when he famously proposed to Nikki Bella.

What will the 16-time World Champion have to say about the state of the blue brand upon his return? Find out tonight at 8/7 C on SmackDown LIVE on USA Network!
