4. “I will give you $1000 if they never wrestle again” – Tommy Dreamer on Dudley Boyz’ Retirement on Raw
During a recent appearance on WZ Radio, former ECW Champion Tommy Dreamer talked about the Dudley Boyz “retiring” on Raw. Dreamer doesn’t think Dudleys are going to retire and below is what he said:
“I love the fact that happened for The Dudleyz. Do I think that’s the last time The Dudleyz are going to tag as a team? I will give you $1000 if they never wrestle again. Trust me. They will wrestle again. For me, letting the WWE Universe say, “Good bye,” to the Dudleyz was a great and classy move by the WWE. It was cool for the Dudleyz to help get some more steam on The Club. I think that was great.”
There was speculation that Dudley Boyz retiring could be a storyline as they recently agreed to a one year deal with WWE. A few weeks back, there were reports of WWE officials wanting to turn Bubba Ray Dudley heel and make him similar to his Bully Ray character in TNA Wrestling (where he became the TNA World Heavyweight Champion).
However, that won’t be the case as the WWE retirement of Dudley Boyz was legitimate and they are free agents now. They did agree to a new deal but both sides mutually decided to part ways sometime last week. The beatdown by Gallows & Anderson was done to put them over as heels.
