Undertaker Doesn’t Think John Cena Becoming A 17-Time World Champion Is Best For Business

The Undertaker vs. John Cena - WrestleMania 34

Below are a couple of top WWE news stories of the day, featuring The Undertaker, John Cena, Jey Uso, and Travis Scott.

• John Cena will get his chance to become a 17-time World Champion in the main event of WrestleMania 41 – Night 2, where he will challenge Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship.

On his Six Feet Under podcast, WWE Hall of Famer The Undertaker discussed the possibility of Cena having one more World Title reign:

“I don’t know that it’s best for business, but I do know it would be a very special moment. I think a lot of people would be very pleased, and personally, I wouldn’t have a problem with it if it does happen.

I think sometimes, every once in a while, you can throw somebody a bone. Flair’s had that record for so long—although, you know, Ric will tell you there were a couple of times no one even knows about where he dropped the title and won it back. I know for sure because he wouldn’t have gotten out of the country if he hadn’t. It’s a great story.

I love that Cena is doing this farewell tour, and I think for people of that caliber, hopefully, this becomes the model moving forward. Even though they don’t do as many live events anymore, getting to go out on a tour where fans know where they can see you one last time and you can address those audiences—that’s special. I love that.

By no means is [a 17th World Title win] going to change his legacy in any way. But not only does he have to win it, then he’s got to lose it. So what do you do? Does he retire with the belt? That doesn’t sit right with me. You tend to go out on your shield or have that defining moment.

I don’t have a strong feeling about what’s best here. However it goes, it’s going to be good. People will get to see him and share that moment. I won’t be upset if he gets [the 17th World Title], and I won’t be upset if he doesn’t. What I do know is that the people are going to be excited to see him.”

• On Busted Open Radio, WWE Hall of Famer Bubba Ray Dudley aka Bully Ray ripped Travis Scott for injuring Cody Rhodes at Elimination Chamber:

“Travis Scott deserves to have his jaw shattered and wired shut. It’s when the mark in the ring all of a sudden decides that he’s a pro wrestler and he knows what the hell he’s doing, and that mark is Travis Scott.

Dude, because Travis Scott decided that he’s going to look like some tough guy in front of the world. You got one coming, Travis. I hope it’s from Cody. If it’s not from him, I hope I never see you one day.”

Travis saw a post about this on Instagram and commented the following:

“I’d slap the sh*t out of Bully like I slapped Cody.”

Jey Uso, who worked with Scott on the RAW Netflix premiere episode, had the following to say about this infamous slap on the Cheap Heat podcast:

“Somebody ain’t tell him how to work—slap him. He probably too damn lit, I don’t know. Slap me like that? Oh no, hell no, man. I probably would have gone like— Dude hit me like Sheamus.”
