8. Reason Behind WWE World Title Match Being Pulled From SmackDown Live
As we noted before, WWE announced that James Ellsworth will get his WWE World Title match against “The Phenomenal” AJ Styles on tonight’s episode of SmackDown Live.
However, they played an angle at the starting of this week’s SmackDown Live where James Ellsworth was sick and Daniel Bryan & Shane McMahon told him to go home and that his WWE World Title match against AJ Styles has been postponed.
WWE played this angle because Styles is still not cleared to return to in-ring action due to the ankle injury he suffered at TLC 2016.
WWE booked a Fatal-4 way elimination match in the main event instead to crown a new #1 contender for the WWE World Championship. Ellsworth will get his Title shot at a later date.
