WWF Veteran Billy Jack Haynes is in trouble.
Authorities in Portland responded to a fatal shooting in the Lents neighborhood on Thursday morning, prompting a shelter-in-place order for residents. According to Portland police, an arrest has been made in connection with the incident.
The incident unfolded at approximately 9:52 a.m. when police received reports of a possible shooting at 6000 SE 100th Avenue.
Upon arrival, officers encountered a man who they believed may have been armed and uncooperative. A tactical team was deployed, and after hours of negotiation, the individual emerged from the residence and was subsequently detained.
Inside the home, officers discovered the body of a deceased woman. Homicide detectives were called to the scene to initiate an investigation. While the identities of the victim and the suspect have not been disclosed by the police, neighbors have indicated that a former professional wrestler and his wife reside at the residence.
One neighbor, Steve Odry, shared his shock at the unfolding events. “He was telling me all kinds of stories about old wrestling and I told him how I used to go watch him,” Odry recalled. The sudden police presence in the area prompted concern among residents, with Odry expressing his surprise upon seeing the blocked-off streets.
Brelynn Matthieu, a resident living in the adjacent unit of the duplex, described the incident as a “huge tragedy”. She expressed her closeness to the individuals involved and the sadness felt by the community.
During the investigation, authorities urged residents in the vicinity of Southeast Reedway Street and Foster Road to remain indoors with their doors locked. This precautionary measure has since been lifted, with police stating that there is no ongoing threat to the community.
As the investigation into the fatal shooting continues, the community mourns the loss and grapples with the aftermath of the tragic event.
F4WOnline journalist Jim Valley later reported that the wrestler that got arrested here is former WWF wrestler Billy Jack Haynes from the Golden Era.
Portland Police issued the following update on Haynes:
