As noted before, CM Punk got into an argument with FTW Champion “Jungle Boy” Jack Perry during the AEW Collision tapings in Canada a couple of weeks ago.
Fightful Select reported that Perry was brought to Collision to record a segment, and he got into an argument with Punk as the two disagreed on Perry’s pitch for a segment.
People from Punk’s camp claimed that Perry wanted to use real glass for a backstage segment. Punk was of the belief that Perry wanted to do it so he wouldn’t have to show up for work the next week, and Punk sees that as a huge problem for the company.
Punk reportedly told Perry to work on Dynamite if he didn’t like how things worked on Collision and thought he was throwing a temper tantrum.
In an update from the Wrestling Observer, it was noted that Perry didn’t try to avoid work on purpose. He had a vacation planned and wanted to be written off TV for that week by getting involved in a pre-taped angle with a car.
Punk disagreed with his idea as he felt it was too dangerous to do a broken glass spot and said they cared about his safety. Perry was upset about it.
Speaking of Punk, he’s scheduled to face ROH TV Champion Samoa Joe at AEW’s All In pay-per-view at the Wembley Stadium on August 27th. No word yet on if Punk’s “real” AEW World Championship will be on the line or not.
