16-Time WWE World Heavyweight Champion John Cena made a surprise return at the Money In The Bank 2023 premium live event.
He said he’s trying to bring WrestleMania to London. Also, SmackDown wrestler Grayson Waller tried to make a name for himself at Cena’s expense, and Cena laid him out with an Attitude Adjustment.
Below is what Cena tweeted about his surprise return:
“I’m simply unable to express the love and gratitude I have for last night’s audience. Thank you to my WWE family for always welcoming back home.
Thank you London for the opportunity to be part of a truly unforgettable evening. WrestleMania🇬🇧🤷‍♂️ Never say never.”
According to Fightful Select, Cena’s return was a one-off appearance that was a closely guarded secret, and he’s currently not scheduled for a match:
“Cena was only set for this show and didn’t have upcoming programs planned. Though that can always change if his schedule frees up. WWE were very happy with how things went for his appearance.”
John Cena’s last match took place at WrestleMania 39, where he lost to Austin Theory in the United States Championship match.
