Below are a couple of top WWE news stories of the day, featuring Jordynne Grace and Charlotte Flair.
• Update On Rumors Of Jordynne Grace Taking A Pay Cut In WWE
Recent chatter sparked by Wrestling Observer had fans believing Jordynne Grace took a significant pay cut to leave TNA for WWE—but that doesn’t appear to be the full picture.
According to the Observer, Scott D’Amore reportedly stated that Grace “took a deal for a lot less money in WWE than she was making.” The source of that claim wasn’t directly cited, and many interpreted it to mean that Grace left TNA for a smaller paycheck in WWE.
However, Fightful Select has clarified the situation. Earlier this year, the outlet reported that while Grace may be earning less overall when factoring in her outside business ventures and brand deals, her actual WWE contract is a main roster level salary—and it is more than what she was earning strictly from TNA.
In short, the idea that she took a lower-paying WWE deal than her TNA salary is inaccurate.
Beyond that, Fightful also noted that Jordynne Grace was financially thriving even before stepping foot into WWE: she was already a millionaire before joining the company.
So while she may have left some external earnings on the table, Grace’s jump to WWE wasn’t a step back financially—and certainly not a simple pay cut from her TNA days.
Jordynne Grace will face Stephanie Vaquer, Giulia, and Jaida Parker in a Fatal 4-Way match for the NXT Women’s Championship at Stand & Deliver, which will take place a few hours before WrestleMania 41 – Night 1.
• Charlotte Flair Reacts To A Fan Claiming She Underwent Face Surgery
As we noted last night, Charlotte Flair tweeted the following regarding her controversial SmackDown promo with WWE Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton:
“After being blindsided by my personal trauma on live television, my character said something on-air that was not true, and I’d like to take this opportunity to clear the air.
I should have NEVER called the Chicago fans smart. I sincerely apologize.”
A fan posted the following meme under Charlotte’s tweet:
Charlotte replied:
“Cute. Now would you like me to tell you what I think of you and your face?”
The fan replied:
“At least it’s my original face tho.”
Charlotte got ratio’d here, as the fan received 10K likes on his response, compared to 8K likes for Charlotte’s response.
