Below are a couple of top WWE news stories of the day, involving The Rock and Brock Lesnar.
• As we noted earlier, PWInsider reported that WWE Officials are monitoring the negative response on Social Media to The Rock replacing Cody Rhodes in the WrestleMania 40 main event spot, so there’s a chance that WWE might change plans as nothing is officially announced so far.
Some fans have taken their support for Cody too far and have openly sent death threats to The Rock over this storyline.
In an update, some fans have sent death threats to The Rock’s daughter Ava as well, who is the General Manager of NXT.
Ava tweeted the following about this situation:
“Can ya’ll just leave me out of this ffs I’m busy running a SHOW
Death threats over a situation I have nothing to do with … bffr”
In an update, Ava has now deactivated her X account after these threats.
• WWE is further distancing themselves from Brock Lesnar due to his association with a $ex trafficking lawsuit against Vince McMahon.
Plans involving Lesnar at major events like the Royal Rumble, Elimination Chamber, and WrestleMania 40 have already been canceled.
He’s been removed from the WWE 2K Supercard mobile game and his merch is being sold at a discounted rate on WWE Shop, so they can clear it out.
Lesnar’s presence will be minimized in WWE licensee content, with no plans for TV appearances.
In an update, Lesnar was taken off the cover of WWE 2K24 Forty Years of WrestleMania edition.
